EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, May 16: Students and others stranded outside J&K after their return to their native land from other parts of the country found themselves caught between devil and deep sea as the Administrative Quarantine Centre in MA Stadium is not equipped with the requisite facilities.
Irked over the ‘inhuman’ conditions at quarantine centre in MA Stadium, these people while undergoing quarantine have condemned those at the helm of affairs.
“The authorities should allow us for home quarantine else we will surely fall prey to the deadly pandemic here because of the facilities given to us. They are worse of its kind,” a lady who is quarantined at MA stadium centre, said.
More people in the quarantine centre said that no social distancing norm is followed at MA Stadium by the people kept in quarantine and there is no one to check all this.
“There is no water facility and no cleanness in the washrooms which are worse than those of a dirty bus stand,” another man undergoing quarantine at MA Stadium complained.
Still many said that this is a big failure of the district administration Jammu while a woman in viral video asked the DC Jammu if she can live without taking bath for three days as the lady in video claimed she was not provided with a bathroom at the quarantine centre for the last three days.
“Hospital administration took our samples immediately after we were quarantined but now no one is informing us as to when our reports will come,” a student undergoing quarantine at MA Stadium said.
“We appeal to higher authorities to check the matter and provide proper facilities at MA Stadium quarantine centre otherwise allow us to move to our homes for home quarantine,” several people maintained. Similar is the condition at other quarantine centres in Jammu and the inmates of these centres are calling their known ones in political circles for help but all proving as futile exercise.
