KPC seeks exemption to PRC holders, registered KP migrants for domicile certificate | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 24: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today stated that the state subject holders and registered KP migrants should not be asked to apply for domicile certificate, but directly treated as domicile for JK UT. In press statement issued today, Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC stated that it is most unfortunate to mingle new registration of KPs with domicile status to JK as well as to obtain domicile certificate by already state subject certificate (PRC) holders and registered KP migrants which is totally an exercise in futile. He said registration of non-registered KPs with Relief Commissioner’s office is welcome step, which was their long pending demand with Government. President KPC demanded that state subject holders and already registered KP migrants should not be asked to apply for domicile certificate, but directly treated as domicile for JK UT and also appealed the Govt to initiate a talk process with victim KP community and to listen their basis demands and concerns which include to grant separate Kashyap Bhoomi for their permanent settlement in the valley as well as other confidence building measures like rehabilitation of over age KP youths, nullification of distress sale, protection to their shrines and temples under law, compensation of losses suffered due to displacement and other issues.
