| Residents of Mandi Dansal without water supply for one month | | |  GURDAS KUMAR

SAMBA, May 24: At a time when day temperature has been rising with each passing day, the residents of Mandi Dansal of Panchayat Kehli Mandi in district Samba have been facing huge hardships due to no supply of water in their area.
The area has been lying affected for the past one month but the concerned department has turned deaf ears towards the plight of locals.
The affected residents belonging to Ward No 7 of Panchayat Kehli Mandi, alleged that the Jal Shakti Deptt has been acting as mute spectator.
“Whenever we approach the department regarding our complaints, we are sent back by giving lame excuses of some technical fault in the motor. But it has been more than one month now that the problem has not been sorted out till date. It has been creating difficulties for the residents as they have hardly any water for their daily use,” the residents alleged.
They further said that in absence of water supply to their villages, they had to fetch water by covering a long distance in scorching heat but department has not been taking their miseries seriously. |
