| 550 kilograms poppy straw seized; 02 arrested along with vehicle | | | Kathua,May 24: In a major breakthrough, Police team of Police Station Rajbagh, arrested two persons alongwith vehicle in which they were carrying 550 Kg of Poppy straw packed and hidden in apple boxes. On dated 23-05-2020 Police team of P/S Rajbagh on routine naka checking at NHW near P/S Rajbagh signalled a vehicle ( CANTER ) to stop for checking bearing registration No. HR45B-6574 which was coming from Jammu towards Lakhanpur. During the checking of said vehicle, 277 Apple boxes were found loaded in it, out of which 55 cardboard boxes (Apple boxes) were found containing Poppy straw @ 10 kg each, amounting to total 5 quintals and 50 kg Poppy straw. which were illegally and stealthily hidden in the apple boxes were recovered. On this a case FIR No. 97/2020 U/S 8/25 NDPS Act was registered at P/S Rajbagh. Police arrested the accused driver namely Balram S/o Dalip Singh and his associate namely Dinesh Kumar S/o Ram Krishan both are resident of Silla Kehri Tehsil Safdion District Jind (Harayan). Further investigation of the case is going on.
