Deceased trader tested negative for COVID-19 | Family demand action against rumour mongers | | Early Times Report
POONCH, May 24: The cloud of suspicion over the death of a well-known trader in Mendhar town of district Poonch has blown away after the test reports of him having coronavirus came negative which ultimately proved that the deceased died due to other reasons than the COVID-19 infection. The authorities have confirmed that the deceased Praveen Sahni, a leading figure of Mendhar and associated with the Beopar Mandal of the town, did not die of Covid-19 but some other ailment. A few days ago, Praveen Sahni died all of a sudden; however, some miscreants spread the rumour in the town that he passed away due to coronavirus infection. Maintaining the protocol associated with the COVID-19, the local administration directed the Health Department to take samples from the body of Praveen. Block Medical Officer Mendhar, Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan when contacted confirmed that Praveen Sahni’s COVID-19 report came negative. Meanwhile, Praveen Sahni’s family has demanded from the administration and District Development Commissioner Poonch to initiate strict action against those people who spread false rumours pertaining to the cause of Praveen’s death. |
