Second JCO attains martyrdom on LoC in Rajouri district within 3 days | | | M S Nazki EArly Times Report
Poonch, Sept 9 : Within three days another Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) has sacrificed his life today for the country while guarding the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district. Sources said at about midnight Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked firing with small & heavy arms on Indian Army's forward positions in Kesargala area in Tarkundi sector. Indian Army retaliated effectively and strongly and according to reports, two Pakistani soldiers were also killed. During the exchange of heavy firing Naib Subedar Rajesh Kumar (42) of Punjab unit, presently posted with Rashtriya Rifle unit in Keri sector, also received bullet injuries and later succumbs. Naib Sub Rajesh Kumar was resident of Mukerian in Punjab state and according to medical reports had received bullet shots in the back and arm reportedly from a short range. After legal formalities the police brought the body to GMC hospital at Rajouri and after medico-legal formalities the body was handed over to the unit for further dispatch to his home town. In the evening today Pakistan army again violated the ceasefire agreement in Kirni & Qasba areas in Poonch district and Indian army once again retaliated befittingly. On August 20 Naib Sub Rajwinder Singh of Punjab had attained martyrdom in Kalsian forward location in Nowshera sector when Pakistan army opened mouth of its gun targeting forward locations. |
