For Sports council, SP Malik continues to be JK Governor, K Vijay Kumar Advisor!
9/3/2020 12:04:21 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 2: Even as over a year has passed since Jammu and Kashmir has been converted into Union Territory and second Lieutenant Governor, Manjo Sinha has already taken charge succeeding GC Murmu, for the J&K State Sports Council(JKSSC), Satyapal Malik continues to be the Governor of J&K.
Not only this, K Vijay Kumar, who around a year ago was given a charge in New Delhi, continues to be the Advisor to the Governor.
As if this was not enough, as per the website of the JKSSC, SP Malik continues to be its President, whereas K Vijay Kumar is shown as the Vice-President.
The Dr Naseem Javaid Choudhary, on the other hand, is shown as Secretary, JKSSC.
The negligence on the part of the concerned authorities has come up when the JKSSC continues to be under the scanner for allegations of large-scale corruption in the last few years.
There were allegations of multi-crore scam in the JKSSC during the Peoples Democratic Party -Bharatiya Janta Party alliance when the money funded under the prestigious Khelo India was termed as “Lutto India” by those who demanded a probe into the matter.
But the failure of the concerned to even update the official site exposes the mess in the system.
A senior official said the JKSSC has been “rotting due to lack of accountability in the system.” “Raj Bhawan will need to make it accountable on priority because otherwise things are getting messy,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
When contacted a senior official downplayed the matter saying that the site was being updated.
“Basically we are waiting to get updated documents from the concerned and it is because of this thing that the update is awaited,” the official said adding the same would be done at an earliest.
He said the JKSSC was doing a “brilliant job” in the promotion of sports activities in the UT.
