DC Poonch listens to issues of Block Mankote PRI members

POONCH, Sept 2: Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, convened a meeting of the Panchayat Raj Institution members of the Block Mankote to discuss with them the issues and demands of their areas.
BDC Chairperson, Sarpanchs, Panchs and local public of the area were present during the event which was also attended by officers of the District Administration including SDM Mendhar Dr. Sahil Jandial, ACD Poonch, DPO Poonch Mukhlis Ali, Executive Engineers of different departments, District Social Welfare Officer.
The PRI members raised various issues and demands of their areas, including augmentation of power supply, water supply, better Medicare facilities, improvement of condition of roads etc.
The specific issues which were projected in the meeting included development of tourism infrastructure in Ramkund Chajla, Jamal Shah Ziarat and Pothi Ziarat, sanctioning of new pension cases, early completion of ongoing PHE schemes etc.
The Deputy Commissioner, after a patient hearing to the demands and issues raised during the meeting, said that District Administration is committed to provide all the basic facilities at the doorsteps of the public and necessary steps are being taken to ensure the same.
The Deputy Commissioner said that as many as 25 PHE schemes have been sanctioned for Block Mankote and every household of the Block shall be provided with functional household tap connection. He informed that the work on the repair of Jamal Shah Chajla road, Ucchad Kasbalari road, Balnoi road shall be completed by the end of October this year. He asked the PRI members to submit the list of the left out eligible beneficiaries for pension so that they can be provided pension under different categories.
The Deputy Commissioner said that all their demands and issues have been documented and assured that the same would be redressed in a phased manner.
He also applauded the BDC and other PRI members for their proactive role in containing the pandemic in the district besides implementation of various schemes.
