Demands cash enhancement, one govt job to each migrant family

JAMMU, Oct 2: Jagti Tenement Committee members have went on hunger strike, asking the state and central governments to meet our demands immediately.
The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC ) and Soan Kashmir Front J&K went on hunger strike in Jagti township today near Lane no 6/7,under the leadership of its president Shadi Lal Pandita.
While taking a dig at the government he said that our hunger strike which has started from today in favour of our genuine demands including enhancement in monthly cash assistance from present slab Rs 13000 per family should be increased to Rs 25000 per family keeping in view the soaring prices of essential commodities and other things, adding it has become very difficult to make both ends meet to hapless migrant relief holders, he added.
Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president of Jagti(JTC) Convener of Soan Kashmir Front J&K and Sunil Koul general secretary who are also sitting on hunger strike said that the government should provide one Job to at least one person of each relief holder migrant family where there is no govt employee adding, a package of 20,000 jobs should be given and out of these 20 ,000 posts 5,000 Class IV posts should be given to those who could not send their children for higher education after matriculation due to poverty and exilement.
JTC president S L Pandita and other members of other organizations who are also on hunger strike in favour of genuine demands of migrant relief holders said that the government should provide free ration to pensioners whose pensions are very low.
Pandita said that on September 8 , 2020,Lt Governor of UT J&K Manoj Sinha visited Jagti township who was also given a memorandum by Jagti migrants had assured that with in fifteen days many problems of KPs will be solved but we have to say with great resentment and pain that nothing has been done till date in this regard.
Pandita said that the government should increase the monthly Relief of relief holders as soon as possible and solve our long pending demands immediately.
Other members who are on hunger strike include Kashi Nath Bhat, Inder ji Labroo, Shuban Krishan Raina, Rakesh Amberdar, Satesh Pandita, Chand Ji Patwari, O N Raina, Ramesh Ji Bhat, P N Koul, Ram Nath Bhat S L Kar, Vijay Bakshi, Vijay Pandita, C L Raina ,P K Sadhu, Ramesh Suri, M L Aima and others.
