SRINAGAR, Oct 2: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 1,090 fresh cases of Corona Virus even though 14 Virus affected patients died in the past 24 hours. The total number of positive cases is 77,253 with the total number of casualties being 1212.
Jammu district reported 354 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 181 cases, Baramulla district 64 cases, Bandipora district 58 cases, Budgam district 54 cases, Reasi district 46 cases, Rajouri district 33 cases, Anantnag district 32 cases, Udhampur district 30 cases, Pulwama district 29 cases, Ganderbal district 28 cases, Doda district 27 cases, Kishtwar, Kupwara and Ramban district 25 cases each, Poonch district 22 cases, Kathua district 21 cases, Samba district 20 cases, Shopian district 10 cases and Kulgam district six cases.
Jammu district reported four fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar district three deaths, Udhampur and Kathua districts two deaths each and a death each in Budgam, Samba & Doda districts. So far 847 COVID-19 deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 365.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,090 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 603 from Jammu division and 487 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 77,253. Also 14 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 10 from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1,400 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 990 from Jammu Division and 410 from Kashmir Division. Out of 77,253 positive cases, 16,089 are active positive, 59,952 have recovered and 1,212 have died; 365 in Jammu division and 847 in Kashmir division.
Out of 16, 67,587 test results available, 15, 90,334 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 5, 81,282 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,129 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 16,089 in isolation and 49,448 under home surveillance. Besides, 4, 99,404 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 15,226 positive cases, 2,103 active positive, 12,828 recovered, 295 deaths; Budgam has 4,980 positive cases, 846 active positive, 4,049 recovered, 85 deaths; Baramulla has 4,491 positive cases, 1,374 active positive, 2,993 recovered, 124 deaths; Pulwama has 3,996 positive cases, 403 active positive cases, 3,524 recovered, 69 deaths; Kupwara has 3,665 positive cases, 737 active positive, 2,861 recovered, 67 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,567 positive cases, 441 active positive, 3,060 recovered, 66 deaths; Bandipora has 3,492 positive cases, 431 active positive, 3,024 recovered, 37 deaths; Ganderbal has 2,946 positive cases, 333 active positive, 2,584 recovered, 29 deaths; Kulgam has 2,285 positive cases, 111 active positive, 2,131 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,039 positive cases, 157 active positive, 1,850 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 13,859 positive cases, 3,553 active positive, 10,110 recovered, 196 deaths; Rajouri has 2,725 positive cases, 1,059 active positive, 1,634 recovered, 32 deaths; Udhampur has 2,303 positive cases, 414 active positive, 1,869 recovered, 20 deaths; Doda has 2,260 positive cases, 931 active positive, 1,297 recovered, 32 deaths; Kathua has 2,100 positive cases, 483 active positive, 1,593 recovered, 24 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,810 positive cases, 908 active positive, 886 recovered, 16 deaths; Samba has 1,802 positive cases, 645 active positive, 1,135 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,382 positive cases, 252 active positive, 1,120 recovered, 10 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,315 positive cases, 589 active positive, 719 recovered, seven deaths and Reasi has 1,010 positive cases, 319 active positive, 685 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 77,253 positive cases in J&K, 8,849 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
