Rapes, murders hallmark of BJP rule: Harsh
JKNPP protests seeking justice for Hathras victim
10/2/2020 11:15:00 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

SAMBA, Oct 2: Seeking justice for the Hathras victim, the Panther activists led by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Mr. Yashpaul Kundal State President Young Panthers held a massive protest at Samba today. While torching the effigy of BJP govt, the infuriated protesters raised slogans against BJP government of UP.
Speaking on the occasion, Harsh Dev Singh said that Hathras episode symbolized barbarism and monstrousness of criminals at its worst. With ever increasing cases of rapes, murders, kidnappings, etc, the law and order situation in the country had fast crumbled under the BJP rule. Not only the present episode of gang rape and murder but similar cases of rapes and murders had occurred in Balrampur, Azamgarh, Buland Sheher, Laskshmipur and Kheri districts of UP in last few weeks only, he said. “A feeling of insecurity had gripped the womenfolk all across the nation in view of steep rise in cases of such heinous offences against women. The BJP had miserably failed to provide safety and security to the fairer sex during its rule despite its tall slogans of Women empowerment. It’s slogans of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao” sold with a big splash and publicized immensely at govt expense had proved a hoax”, asserted Singh.
Strongly condemning the Hathras episode wherein the mortal remains of the victim were consigned to flames by the local administration at the dead of night, Singh said that it did not have any other parallel in the history of crime. He regretted that the Centre had failed to act against UP govt despite recurring episodes of gang rapes, murders, and other heinous offences which had virtually threatened the socio-politico system and created fear psychosis all across the State especially among females. Urging upon the intelligentsia and civil society to raise its voice against ever growing crime especially against women, Singh said that their silence would also be equated with crime by posterity if they failed to speak.
Yashpaul Kundal called upon the women activists of the party to come to the succour of all such womenfolk who were facing harassment, humiliation or other kind of atrocities at the hands of anti-social elements or criminals.
