SRINAGAR, Feb 6: The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 24,850 as 65 new cases of the virus were reported in the past 24 hours. No virus related death was reported from any part of the union territory during the same time period.
Srinagar district reported 26 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Pulwama district 10 cases, Jammu district nine cases, Anantnag district five cases, Poonch district three cases, Budgam, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Shopian and Udhampur districts two cases each and Kulgam & Doda districts one case each. No case was reported from Baramulla, Bandipora, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi districts.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 65 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 15 from Jammu division and 50 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 24,850.
Moreover, 88 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 30 from Jammu division and 58 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 24,850 positive cases, 631 are active positive, 1, 22,275 have recovered and 1,944 have died; 722 in Jammu division and 1,222 in Kashmir division.
Out of 46, 66,171 test results available, 45, 41,321 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 11, 64,478 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,261 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 631 in isolation and 1, 02,323 in home surveillance. Besides, 10, 25,319 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,335 positive cases, 217 active positive, 25,660 recovered, 458 deaths; Baramulla has 8,128 positive cases, 32 active positive, 7,922 recovered, 174 deaths; Budgam has 7,790 positive cases, 33 active positive, 7,639 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,750 positive cases, 46 active positive, 5,616 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,666 positive cases, 19 active positive, 5,551 recovered, 96 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,929 positive cases, 52 active positive, 4,791 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,696 positive cases, 17 active positive, 4,618 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,644 positive cases, 58 active positive, 4,539 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,700 positive cases, 20 active positive, 2,626 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,575 positive cases, 25 active positive, 2,510 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,014 positive cases, 43 active positive, 24,600 recovered, 371 deaths; Udhampur has 4,214 positive cases, 14 active positive, 4,143, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,869 positive cases, one active positive, 3,813 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,433 positive cases, four active positive, 3,364 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, four active positive, 3,199 recovered, 53 deaths.
"Samba has 2,832 positive cases, 11 active positive, 2,781 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,732 positive cases, one active positive, 2,709 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,507 positive cases, 22 active positive, 2,461recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, four active positive, 2,110 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,645 positive cases, seven active positive, 1623 recovered, 15 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 24,850 positive cases in J&K, 11,783 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
