DDC Rajouri appeals people to cooperate in keeping city neat & clean

RAJOURI, Mar 20: To take first-hand appraisal of the progress achieved in face-lifting of the city, the District Development Commissioner, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today conducted a whirlwind tour of the Rajouri Township.
The District Development Commissioner was accompanied by Chairman MC Rajouri, Mohammad Arif, Additional Superintendent of Police, Liyaqat Choudhary; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf; Executive Engineer PWD, Mohd Zubair; Tehsildar Rajouri, Mohd Rafiq, EO MC Rajouri and District Information Officer, Narinder Kumar.
While reviewing the progress of the beautification Project of Panja Chowk, the EO MC Rajouri was directed to ensure the lifting of garbage in the vicinity. He was also directed to inform the public that littering along the roadside is prohibited.
The District Development Commissioner also visited the Ambedkar Park at Salani and directed Tehsildar Rajouri to carry out the demarcation of the area adjoining the park and submit the status report in this regard.
The EO MC Rajouri was asked to clean the bushes and old Salani Bridge and submit a project report so that the Bridge can be declared as a Monumental bridge.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also visited the District Court complex where he interacted with the members of the Bar Association, advocates and other Officers of prosecuting wing. The President Bar Association projected several demands like meeting halls for sitting, sanitary complex, parking space and Entrance gate.
Terming the Advocates as the torchbearers of the society, the Deputy Commissioner said the society has high expectations from them. He urged them to generate awareness among the masses about the schemes launched by the Centre or UT Government.
He said the judicial institutions are the temple of justice and it is our collective responsibility to make them neat and clean. The Deputy Commissioner assured them that all their demands will be taken into consideration.
Among the others present were DDC Chairperson Rajouri, Naseem Liyaqat; President Bar Association Rajouri; Chief Prosecuting Officer, Manzar Khayam; members of Bar Association and other senior advocates.
