Early Times Report

Poonch, June 13: Outraged at the casual approach of the employees of District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) Poonch, residents of this frontier district have demanded stern action against them for disrespecting the National Flag.
According to the details available with Early Times, the tricolor fell down from the office building three days ago and till date the DIET officials have not even taken a note of it.
“The flag hoisted on the office building has fallen but no one from the office has taken any step to hoist it again,” said Kanuj Sharma, a local resident.
He said: “The staff of DIET don’t attend the office and we have been looking for them for the past 3-days.Strict action should be taken against the head of the office as well as the other employees, who don’t come to office regularly.”
It’s in place to mention here that the Government had taken the decision to hoist the national flag on every government building but due to the casual approach of some departments, due respect is not being given to the tricolor. Locals urged the Lieutenant Governor to take note of the issue and take strict action against the erring officials, including their head.
The ADC Poonch, when contacted, said that he would inquire about it and action will be taken if the allegation was found true.
