Early Times Report

Reasi, June 18: Continuing police drive against absconders who are evading arrests since years, Reasi Police on Tuesday arrested another absconder, accused of illicit liquor smuggling, after 6 years. Accused Mohd Gafoor S/O Bagh Hussain R/O Dasanoo Tehsil & District Reasi was absconding in Case FIR no 07/2014 Dated 04/02/2014 U/S 48-a of Excise Act, of Police Station Reasi. Case got proved and challaned in the court of law. To avoid conviction accused evaded trial proceedings by going underground & couldn’t be apprehended since 2015. Accused dodged the investigation agencies by disguising his appearance. A ‘General Warrant of Arrest’ under section 512 CrPC was issued by Munsiff JMIC Reasi, against the accused on 21/01/2015. By meticulously planning Police Station Reasi traced the accused and arrested him from Reasi Town. Team Reasi remained successful in nabbing the criminals who are evading their arrests since years and against whom General Warrants of Arrest are issued by Hon’ble Courts. This is the arrest of 18th absconder by Reasi Police since Sh Shailender Singh took over the charge of SSP Reasi in last week of march this year.
