| Residents demand repairing of Irrigation bridge at Vijaypur | | |  Gurdas Kumar

Samba, June 18: The residents of ward 11 of Vijaypur demanded repair of damaged bridge over irrigation canal in the area.
The only irrigation bridge that connects Vijaypur city and Ward no. 11 is in poor condition for a long time and a few days ago a woman had fallen from it who got serious injury. Till now Municipal Committee Vijaypur has not repaired the damaged bridge.
Former Councilor of Ward No 11 and Congress leader Bubble Gupta said that the bridge built by the Irrigation Department has been broken for a few days. “The department should take care of this matter”, he said.
He asked the DC Samba to take appropriate and timely action into this matter in public interest. “People daily pass through this damaged bridge, which connects the two localities and the AIIMS Jammu and the bypass road”, he said, adding that if timely actions are not taken the residents will be forced to hit the road in support of their genuine demand.
Amarjeet Kour, a local woman, said that due to the damaged bridge, people are facing problems, but the concerned Councilor seems unbothered. |
