GDC Sidhra to mark the 100 days countdown for the International Yoga Day 2022

Jammu, June 19: In continuation with the series of activities and programs being organized to mark the 100 days countdown for the International Yoga Day 2022 as per the action plan of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra, under the aegis of IQAC and banner of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, organized a series of activities.
In the first activity, NSS volunteers of the college created video clips and picture collages of themselves performing different Yoga asanas at their respective homes. Keeping in mind the ability of Yoga asanas to bring harmony between the mind and body, NSS volunteers made the event a huge success by performing various Yogic asanas.
In the second activity of Essay Writing Competition themed, “Importance of Yoga: The best way to Health and Fitness”, NSS volunteers actively participated highlighting the importance of inculcating Yoga as a daily practice. In the essay writing competition, the first position was bagged by Abida Kouser of B. A Sem 2. Second position was secured by Wasim Ahmed of Semester 6 and the third position was secured by Deepak Nischal of B. Com Sem 6. The competition was adjudged by Prof. Harpreet Kour, HOD Department of Political Science and Prof. Rudrika Khajuria, HOD, Department of English.
The program was successfully conducted under the able guidance of the worthy Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Bharat Bhushan Anand. The program was organized by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS Program Officer and coordinated by the members of NSS Unit.
