Jammu, May 8: Pakistan’s ties to terrorist organizations were laid bare as Al-Qaeda’s regional affiliate, Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), issued a statement supporting Pakistan and declaring a so-called “Jihad fi Sabilillah” against India following India’s airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in Operation Sindoor. On May 7, 2025, India conducted targeted bombings of terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In response, AQIS released a statement titled “Indian Aggression on the land of Pakistan,” accusing India of waging a prolonged war against Islam and framing the airstrikes as part of a decades-long pattern of aggression. “For all the Mujahideen of Islam and "Pakistan’s ties to terrorist organizations were laid bare as Al-Qaeda’s regional affiliate, Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), issued a statement supporting Pakistan and declaring a war against India following India’s airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in Operation Sindoor." the Muslims of the Subcontinent, this war against India is Jihad Fi Sabilillah,” the AQIS statement read. “It is a duty upon us to engage in this struggle to raise the Word of Allah, defend Islam and Muslims, and support the oppressed people of The Subcontinent.” The group called on Muslims across the subcontinent to “rise up” in support of its objectives, labeling India’s actions as a “dark chapter” in a long list of alleged crimes. The statement underscores the deep ties between Pakistan and global terror networks, raising concerns about escalating tensions in the region. Indian authorities have not yet responded to the AQIS statement but remain on high alert following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor. |
