Is Govt playing with governance in JK?
1/30/2014 11:06:29 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 30: The National Conference-Congress coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir is playing with governance in the State as they are only concerned about their chair and power. They are just taking toll on the governance in the State where Government machinery is only waiting for the cat and mouse war between these coalition partners. Playing a drama over the creation of new administrative units and then reaching out to Congress high command in New Delhi by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was nothing but a ploy to save his chair which was in danger after he tweeted last week over the issue. Now, it seems that he has convinced Congress high command that if th...

Sub-Committee Report
1/30/2014 11:06:20 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 30: The National Conference has been told by the Congress that if it wants to have its consent on new administrative units, NC won't use it as political tool to take credit. The party had said it's for this reason only that it has suggested that the report should be discussed in the Cabinet first before making any announcement. "We have categorically told NC leadership and directed it to communicate to the Omar Abdullah that if any announcement is to be made, then it should be told as efforts of coalition Government rather than the solely of the NC, even if the coalition partners agree to part ways," said a Cong Minister. Congress has reservations that once ...

Austerity measures thrown in air, VVIP culture still in vogue
965 Security vehicles provided to 619 VIPs in JK
1/30/2014 11:06:03 PM
Kunal Shrivatsa JAMMU, Jan 30: In their bid to make up for the financial crunch and fiscal deficit, the successive State Governments during the past more than 10 years have announced number of austerity measures. Amazingly, provision of extending benefits of security vehicles by Security wing of J&K Police to those, who are not either elected representatives or well known faces in the political spectrum of the state, is tearing apart the very idea of 'austerity'. If the sources are to be believed, the protected persons including VVIPs, political big wigs as well as small time politicians irrespective of political parties, Government officers and retired police officers are enjoying the p...

New administrative units
1/30/2014 11:05:02 PM
Rustam JAMMU, Jan 30: The Congress is digging its political grave in Jammu province with whose support it remained relevant in the state for years and has been enjoying power since November 2002 in alliance with the Kashmiri ruling elite. This is the only conclusion one could draw in the light of the developments which unfolded in New Delhi and Jammu on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is now almost clear from the yesterday's developments that the National Conference (NC) would carry the day and the Congress would toe the line of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who wants the Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) for the creation of new administrative units to make recommendations on the lines indicated in the...
