The Minister of State for Power Babu Singh was today caught on the wrong foot when entire opposition brought to the fore a plethora of questions on power supply and distribution.
In his typical style, the Minister of State tried his best to counter the opposition during the Question Hour but all in vain. The Industries Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora, who till recently was the Power Minister, came to the rescue of Babu Singh several times but this could not satisfy the opposition.

In 60 years of its existence as a democratic state and 50 years after application of the separate constitution, the Jammu and Kashmir state constitution is yet to incorporate the most import word "socialist" in its preamble.
This issue has assumed all the more importance as the Supreme Court today turned down as plea for deleting the word "socialist" from the preamble of the constitution of India.

It seems that the Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who remained at dagger drawn with the main ruling partner in the government has suddenly found a large lobby of sympathizers in the Congress party.
As the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor's address began in the legislative assembly this morning, the Congress legislators blew their lungs out to sing in praise of Mufti. Fire brand leader of National Conference Ali Muhammad Sagar today threatened to bring no-confidence motion against Speaker Tara Chand, whom the former accused of being biased towards the opposition benches.
The threat came when House was in commotion during the Question Hour, this morning. The members were protesting against, `poor' power scenario and undue favour to some private companies while executing various prestigious projects.
NC MLA Ali Muhammad Sagar, who along with Main Altaf was protesting for refusal by the Speaker to grant them time to speak turned ferious, when he failed to get attention of the Chair.
