RAJOURI, June 7 : Minister of State for Health , Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan who was on extensive tour of Rajouri District, today inspected pace of progress of several ongoing developmental projects in border villages of the area. He also visited various areas of his Constituency, took stock of people’s problems and directed concerned authorities for early redressal of people’s grievances and fulfillment of developmental needs. The minister inspected pace of progress of Rs 2.62 crore under execution 6.3 MVA receiving Station, Ghambir brahmana. He was apprised by the concerned authorities that Rs 1.75 crore has been expended on the said project and would be completed during this fiscal. Mr. Shabir also inspected the pace of progress of under construction Rs 4.78 crore, Water Supply Scheme, Panjgrain and Rs 3.4 crore 4kms road project Ghambir Khankri. He was apprised that till date a cumulative amount of Rs 1.6 crore have been spent on the execution of these projects. Rajouri, June 7 : In an unprovoked firing from across the border a Naib Subedar was killed at a forward post in Sojian area in Poonch district. The JCO has been identified as Bachan Singh resident of Pouri Gharwal in Uttraanchal and was attatched with 40 RR based at Mandi. Whether Pakistan army opened fire to facilitate an intrusion bid, or militants opened fire on the forward post, is a matter of detailed investigation. Srinagar, June 7 : "Atleast eight persons were injured in different motor vehicle accidents across the valley, a police statement said on Friday. A pedestrian, Abdul Rehman Thokar son of Abdul Samad resident of Waghama was hit and injured by a Tata Sumo on the Highway at Bijbehara. The injured was shifted to sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment. Meanwhile, a Tavera vehicle and a Maruti car collided at Bemina crossing, in Srinagar resulting in injuries to the driver of the Maruti car. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Udhampur, June 7 : Police have booked a follower of IRP for duping unemployed educated youth and their parents by taking Rs 84 lakh on false assurances of providing jobs in Forest and Police departments. The follower had taken money at the rate of Rs two lakhs per head from over 42 persons belonging to Jangalgali and adjoining areas of Udhampur by posing himself as personal security officer (PSO) of a high profile senior retired police officer. SRINAGAR, June 7 : Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has established a Control Room equipped with helpline facility, for Yatris undertaking the Shri Amarnathji pilgrimage, in the office of Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board. Mr. Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board informed that the helpline will function from 9.30 AM to 6 PM on all weekdays from 8th June to 26th June.
