| Police books IRP follower for duping youth | | | Udhampur, June 7 : Police have booked a follower of IRP for duping unemployed educated youth and their parents by taking Rs 84 lakh on false assurances of providing jobs in Forest and Police departments. The follower had taken money at the rate of Rs two lakhs per head from over 42 persons belonging to Jangalgali and adjoining areas of Udhampur by posing himself as personal security officer (PSO) of a high profile senior retired police officer. In compliance with the directions of CJM Udhampur on the application filed by Nasib Singh and others, police have registered a case FIR No.84/2013 U/S 420 RPC, 5(2) PCA in Police Station Rehmbal against accused Babu Singh son of Samar Singh of Tada Jajjarkotli, who is follower of IRP 3rd Battalion. The case is being investigated under the supervision of SP Benam Tosh who has directed the Dy SP Abdul Raqeeb Malik and SHO P/S Rehmbal to arrest the accused and complete investigation on merit. Babu Singh is reportedly absent from his duty un-authorisedly since January this year. He had organised fake measurement somewhere in Jammu city according to the victims so as to cheat them. According to reports, the accused has also cheated and collected money from the people of Billawar and other areas of the State adopting similar modus operandi. The hunt is on to apprehend the absconding accused. |
