Kashmir Muslims greet yatris to strengthen brotherhood | Yatra of harmony | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 2: The Amarnath Yatra 2025 commenced today with an inspiring display of unity and brotherhood at the Navyug Tunnel in Kulgam district, South Kashmir.
Local Muslims, adorned with caps and carrying flowers and garlands, gathered in large numbers to warmly welcome the first batch of pilgrims, sending a powerful message of peace and Kashmiriyat.
The emotional scene underscored the centuries-old tradition of communal harmony in Kashmir, as locals embraced the spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava (the guest is divine).
“Our welcome is a befitting reply to those who try to divide people in the name of religion. Amarnath pilgrims are not just devotees for us, but guests,” said a local resident.

Jammu, July 2: State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) has set up a permanent disaster management complex at Baltal, Ganderbal district, for pilgrims undertaking the Amarnath Yatra, a company official said.
This Disaster Management and Yatri Niwas Complex will become operational on Friday, he added.

Jammu, July 2: As northern Railways plans to operate special trains for the pilgrims intending to undertake Amarnath yatra, authorities have set up various facilities, including registration on arrival and medical check up, at Jammu Railway station, a senior railway official said on Wednesday.

Rajouri/Jammu, July 2: Five springs were sealed after gastroenteritis and diarrhoea claimed two lives and rendered scores of others sick in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir over the past week, officials said on Wednesday.
