CJM directs Crime Branch to submit status report | Forging of signatures case | | Sumit Sharma
JAMMU, Sept 16: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Jammu today ordered SSP Crime Branch Jammu to submit status report in alleged signature forging case filed by employees of JAKFED against its ex- General Manager Girdhari Lal Abrol. Ex- General Manager Girdhari Lal Abrol had allegedly forged signatures of six employees of JAKFED on a complaint of alleged fraud and embezzlement against then Managing Director (MD) JAKFED Ravinder Kumar Gupta. Following the lodging of complaint, Ravinder Gupta was placed under suspension. However, the six officials whose signatures had allegedly been forged lodged a complaint with Crime Branch Jammu accusing G.L Abrol and some close confidants of Cooperative Minister Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma of hatching a conspiracy to ensure attachment of Ravinder Gupta. They alleged that Abrol and Manohar Lal's close aides were behind the conspiracy and demanded FIR against them. The six employees included Mohammed Iqbal Mir, Suraj Parkash, R.K.Wali, Madan Lal, Rajiv Sharma, Sham Lal and Neelam Singh. They alleged that they came to know about their forged signatures on the complaint against Ravinder Gupta after he was attached. "It is recently that we came to know about a complaint received by Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Chairman JAKFED against MD JAKFED and others bearing our signatures. The signatures are forged as we have attached an affidavit bearing our genuine signatures". A simultaneous complaint was also lodged with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, who is investigating the matter. Court's direction was forwarded following complaint by JAKFED employees, alleging therein that on June 26, 2012; a complaint seeking registration of FIR against G.L Abrol, General Manager JAKFED (attached to Divisional Commissioner Jammu) and others for forging signatures of the six employees of JAKFED on a complaint against then MD JAKFED Ravinder Kumar Gupta,but till date they are not given satisfactory reply. As per court order "SSP Crime Branch Jammu has to submit status report on or before September 21". It is worthwhile to mention here that on May 30, 2012 Divisional Commissioner Jammu asked by Government to enquire into the complaints received by Government pertaining to functioning of JAKFED and submit a report. Government also directed Ravinder Gupta and Girdhari Lal Abrol to report to office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Sudershan Sharma Registrar Cooperative Societies J&K was directed to hold charge of MD JAKFED in addition to his own duties.
