| Jagti Tenement Committee holds meet, highlights issues | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 8 : A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee was convened under the President ship of Shadi Lal Pandita at Jagti Township, to discuss the problems of the KP Migrants, inmates of the township. The meeting was attended by over 500 JTC Workers. The meeting was shocked at the death of one Kamal Krishan Koul S/o Lt. Prasad Koul who was residing in TRT No. 21, Block 34, Lane 7, at Jagti Township and had left the tenement some 3-4 days back, whose body has been recovered by the Police authority at Sidhra in a nallah. they said that the lives of the inmates of Jagti Township are unsafe and as such the government need to take immediate steps to keep the inmates here safe and secure. The meeting was critical about the scarcity of the LPG supply there in the township and at the same time the supply of LPG Cylinders having been diminished now to only 6 Cylinders per family per year. This situation has added to the miseries of the inmates at this township. In order to have a little relief in this regard they appealed to the Chief Minister and Minister for CAPAD, J&K to immediately open a Kerosine oil retail outlet there so that the inmates migrants be able to get Kerosine oil and use it for cooking purposes. The relief organization need to do justice to the migrants by increasing the cash relief from present 5000/per family per month to Rs. 15000/- per family per month. The government also need to cancel all the fake relief ration cards of migrants so that the savings there from could be utilized in raising the monthly cash relief of migrants this lesson the burden on the state exchequer. The long pending demand for the reconstruction and repair of the portion of road from Kandoli Nagrota to Jagti Township may be acceded to and immediate reconstruction/repairs made.
