JKDF chief defends party cadres action, termed demand as genuine

Srinagar, Oct 8: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front chief Anil Gupta defended the action of three party cadres who today storm inside the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and created ruckus over growing unemployment problem in State. In an exclusive chat with "Early Times", Anil Gupta said that all the three youths are the responsible office bearers of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front and said that all of them were protesting against the growing unemployment in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that his party was fighting against the unemployment since last 3-4 months and said that his party men followed all the means of democratic way to lodge his protest. He said that the protest of three party cadres was well in the ambit of democracy. "We have made dharnas and even jail baro andolan was done by us for securing jobs for unemployed youths, but Government has slept over it and they don't awake," said Anil Gupta. He identified the three youths as Manish Gupta District Youth President JKDF, Ambadkar Gupta General Secretary JKDF Jammu and Sunny Mahajan from Udhampur. He said that the agitating youths demanded unemployed policy for the youths of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the unemployed youths of the State are struggling and fighting to get jobs and demanded that at least Rs. 2000 stipend should be given to the unemployed youths of the State. He said that all the three youths by means of this protest was trying to make the Government understand that their demand is a genuine one. "Government has forced them to do such an act," Anil Gupta added. He said that his party man hasn't done any crime. "They have just told the Government and the house (Assembly) that this is the genuine demand of the youths of Jammu and Kashmir," Anil Gupta said.
It is worthwhile to mention that Jammu and Kashmir tops on the list of unemployment having 6.11 lakhs registered unemployed youths which constitutes 5.30 % of total unemployed youths in India. The National average percentage of unemployed youths in India is 2.60%. As per the data, in 2007 Jammu and Kashmir have 1.10 lakh unemployed youths and in the year 2011, the total strength of unemployed youths in Jammu and Kashmir touches 6.11 lakhs which over 400% increase in last 5 years.
