| Fulfilling people’s aspirations, Govt’s prime duty: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 23: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today laid foundation stone of multipurpose purpose community hall besides launching works of bathing ghat (Tootian) at Gangyal to be constructed by Jammu Municipal Corporation at an estimated cost of Rs 42 lakh. Addressing a large gathering after laying the foundation stone, Bhalla said that the hall would be constructed in 3771.75 sq ft area, which would have all modern facilities. He said stipulated to be completed in March 2013, on its completion the people of the area could arrange their social as well as religious functions on minimal fee. The Minister said Government has dedicated Rs 9 crore multipurpose community halls to the people of Barzalla, Bahufort, Shanker Colony, Channi Himmat, Raipur Satwari, Preet Nagar and Gangyal. He said Government was making all out efforts to mitigate development related aspirations of the people by launching several projects under PHE, R&B, ERA, JMC, Floriculture and PDD sectors. Listing the developmental activities taken up in Gangyal, the Minister said Rs 3.5 crore have been sanctioned for digging the new 25000 gallon deep drill tube well near to Govt Rajiv Gandhi Hospital including laying of water of supply pipes in water deficit areas of Babliana, Gangyal and Dashmash Nagar. He said on the commissioning of the tube well, three time drinking water supply to above said areas people to be supplied. To ease the rush in GMC, Gandhi Nagar, SMGS hospitals, Bhalla said Government has prepared a plan involving Rs 48 crore for construction of 100-bedded hospital in the premises of the Govt. Rajiv Gandhi hospital. Later, Bhalla also inaugurated newly constructed Gynae block at Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission hospital at Ambphalla. On the occasion, MLA West Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Pardeep Gupta besides prominent citizens, medical and para-medical fraternities were also present. |
