| JURSEA demands restriction on entry of outsiders on campus | | 'Disgruntled scholars playing in the hands of a political group for money' | | Early Times Report Jammu, October 28: Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association (JURSEA) has urged the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohan Paul Singh Ishar to restrict the entry of outsiders into the Jammu University campus as they have been making attempts to disturb the peaceful atmosphere on the campus under the political influence. The JURSEA also appealed the Vice-Chancellor to identify the trouble-makers within the campus and initiate strict action against them. "JURSEA will not allow such elements to get succeeded in their nefarious designs,” JURSEA president, Rakesh Chib said while addressing the media persons here. He said some disgruntled scholars have been acting as puppets in the hands of a political group whose sole motive is to gain media attention through cheap tactics. Some scholars, who failed to get elected for JURSEA due to their own weaknesses, supported by outsiders have been raising hue and cry at the behest of this political group and are a serious threat to the prevailing peace on the campus, Chib cautioned. He clarified that the Election Commissioner for JURSEA elections in the presence of senior officials of the university and scholars had fixed October 25 as deadline for filling of nomination papers. The JURSEA chief said an attempt is being made to defame the Vice-Chancellor and the ruling government that the University authorities acted under political influence. He urged the Vice-Chancellor to understand the ulterior motives of these scholars and take immediate measures to curb their anti-varsity activities besides restricting the entry of outsiders who should not be allowed to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere on the campus. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Akshay Sharma, Gourav Kumar, Varinder Thakur, Vinod Kumar, Ajay Prashar and Deepak Sharma.
