| Bhalla launches development works worth Rs1.18 cr | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, OCTOBER 29- Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today launched development works worth Rs. 1.18 crore at Chatha Pind, Chatha Farm, Rehan Mohalla and Bua Ditta Mohalla of Raipur Satwari. The Minister asked the accompanying officers and executing agencies to to further streamline their working to ensure enhanced public utilities to the people particularly those residing in hilly and rural areas. He said that Central and State Governments have launched number of development schemes to upgrade the living standards of villagers, adding that adequate funding is being released under various development sectors like PHE, I&FC, ERA, PDD, School Education, RDD and R&B in this regard. Taking serious notice of delay in road widening and mecademisation works on Chatha Pind to matador stand link road besides construction of deep drain near Government High School Chatha, the Minister asked the Executive Engineer, R&B, to re-allot the works to new contractor for early completion of the projects. He also asked him to raise the existing level of the Chatha Pind road so that water logging on the path can be avoided. Responding to the demand of locals, Bhalla asked the people to identify the land for digging of deep drill tube well at Chatha pind to ensure supply of potable drinking water to the tail end of the locality. For construction of lanes and drains in Chatha Farm village, he asked the concerned department to prepare the estimates and submit the same for funding so that the works could be taken up at the earliest. Regarding replacement of worn out wires and installation of poles in uncovered areas of the Rehan Mohalla, Chatha Farm and Bua Ditta Mohalla, the Minister asked the PDD to immediately install the wires and poles for safety and convenience of the people. Later, Bhalla also visited Government High School, Chatha and laid foundation stone for construction of additional 8-rooms, toilet block, Science lab, library and computer rooms, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 39 lakh under RAMSA. |
