Sham asks employees redouble efforts to sustain position
200% increase in revenue receipt during past 3 yrs

JAMMU, Nov 9 : Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma today said that the State has secured the topmost award in the health sector by the collective efforts of the employees and active support of the civil society.
Justifying the award, the Minister said an independent agency had carried away the survey and found the performance of health sector of the State best in the country.
Speaking at a felicitation function organized by the J&K Medical Employees Federation in the premises of Directorate of Health here today, the Minister clarified that the State has won the award of Best Improved State in the primary and secondary health for second consecutive year and it's a matter of pride for the State.
Asking the employees to redouble their efforts in improving the health facilities in every nook and corner of the state, the Minister said that Government was aware about their problems on ground and all out efforts are being made to improve their working conditions.
On the posting of migrant doctors and para-medics who are presently out of the State, the Minister said that Government has already decided to utilize the services of all migrant staff to overcome the deficiency of staff.
The dead line for their joining has been extended upto 30th of April next, he added.
Secretary Health & Medical Education, Manoj K. Dwivedi, Director Health Services, Dr. Madhu Khullar, President J&K Employees Federation, Sushil Soodan also spoke on the occasion.
All Heads of Departments under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, CMOs, Medical Superintendents, BMOs of Jammu, large number of doctors, para-medics, ASHA workers and staff of different wings were present on the occasion.
Earlier, on reaching the venue, the Minister was given rousing reception by the Union Leaders and staff of the Directorate of Health Services and Indian System of Medicines. They presented him mementoes and traditional Dogra turban.
