Jammu, Nov 9: Coming true and appropriate to the Hindi proverb 'Andha banyte revrian mudh mudh apne ko de meaning giving benefit to own, the former MD SICOP B S Dua (presently Director Industries) provided undue benefits to his kin (brother's son) Jaswinder Singh Dua putting all set norms in the air and then further promoting him in the rank of Sr Ganeral Manager.
This bizarre episode of catapulting an last man to the main show has not attracted the ire of the concerned people but also have raised the functioning of the officials who are at the helm of affairs.
In fact the credential of the former MD SICOP B.S Dua (presently Director Industries) is in question after a complaint was lodged against
him with Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir government alleging him for using his official position in an inappropriate manner and giving undue benefits to his brother's son namely Jaswinder Singh Dua. The aggrieved in their complaint stated that the person in question first created room for his nephew illegally in violation to set recruitment norms and promoted him to the rank Sr Ganeral Manager within a short period of his alleged illegal appointment.
The complaint was lodged by none but the employees of the SICOP and copy of which is forwarded to DIG Crime Branch for probe. In the complaint it has been alleged that BS Dua during his tenure as Managing Director SICOP, misused his official position and committed blatant administrative lapse and to cover those lapse he made illegal promotion to his kin.
It is also alleged that Dua, in order to give illegal promotion to his kin has also changed the rank and post of his nephew which were never with in competence of the Managing Director which should have gone to board of directors of SICOP in a specific agenda for change of cadre
"Jaswinder was appointed in violation of corporation norms as no formal advertisement was issued by the SICOP, the letter sent to chief secretary and to the crime branch stated further alleging that the beneficiary was elevated to the senior rank not only violation of promotion norms but also sidelining many eligible and competent and senior employees.
However, BS Dua when contacted briefly defended that his nephew was appointed prior his posting as MD SICOP.
