| Absconder nabbed, bovine smuggling bid foiled | | |

KATHUA, Jan 28: Police today nabbed one absconder from Rajbagh area near here, who was evading his arrest for the last couple of years. According to police sources, the absconder identified as Sarbjeet Singh son of Daleep Singh of Rajbagh wanted in case FIR No. 100/2001 U/S 452/307 RPC 4/25 Arms Act and against whom warrants u/s 512 Cr.PC were issued by District Session Court Kathua on 10.12.2012 was arrested by a police party of police station Rajbagh. Meanwhile, a police party of PP Hatli acting on specific information laid down a naka at Maggar Khad and intercepted one Truck bearing registration no. JK02AD-0705.
On seeing the police Naka, Driver of the truck and his associate managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the Truck loaded with 13 Bovine animals which were seized by the Naka Party. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused. A case FIR No.31/2013 U/S 188 RPC 3PCA Act stands registered at P/S Kathua. |
