Rajouri, Jan 28 : The patrolling party of Jammu and Kashmir Police today recovered a high intensity rusted grenade from Lambedi area near line of control (LOC) in border district Rajouri.
Police said that on specific information, a police patrolling party recovered live high explosive grenade in thick forest area of the forward area near line of control under rusted condition this afternoon at about 2 pm. Immediately patrolling party informed senior officers about the recovery and the entire area was cordoned off by army and local police. The traffic movement remained suspend on these areas for some time, sources said.
Later, Bomb Disposal Squad of army was called who defused the grenade thereby averting a tragedy, sources said Police said, "It is an old planted grenade, in a rusted condition, which was hidden in thick forest area long ago." After the recovery, an extensive search operation was launched by police and army in the area. |
