| Militancy at its lowest ebb in Poonch-Rajouri: DIG | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Jan 28 : Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajouri-Poonch Range, Danesh Rana today said that police has no trace of Sham Lal, who is regarded as a Hindu militant having presence in this area from years. Talking to media persons in his office, DIG Danesh Rana said that now very few militants have remained in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch who are also in a state of silence and no new successful militant infiltration attempt has been reported while militants movement has also not been reported from past some time. Replying to a question regarding Sham Lal who is regarded as a Hindu militant who is believed to be remained active in the area from past many years, DIG Rana said that police has no whereabouts of this person and his presence in this area or any other movement is not reported from the last so many years. DIG also said that some talks that Sham Lal was seen in Palma area during a marriage ceremony have no solid stands and there are no authentic reports with police or security agencies. He also said that the occasion of Republic Day remained peaceful in the twin border districts and all the celebration programmes in rural as well as urban parts were held successfully. |
