SRINAGAR, Jan 28: Only three residents of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here this afternoon while 22 Kashmiris crossed over to the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) at Kaman Post, the last Indian military post, in Uri sector in Jammu and Kashmir. As many as 20 returnees also crossed sides in the Karvan-e-Aman, peace bus, official sources said here today. They said three POK residents, including two women, arrived at the Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge in Uri sector this afternoon. Fifteen Kashmiris, including six women and two children, who had gone to POK also returned here after completing their stay in PoK with their relatives, separated in 1947. Sources said 22 Kashmiris also crossed over to POK to meet their relatives. They included seven women and four children. Five PoK residents also returned to their homes after completing their stay in Kashmir. The bus service has helped thousands of families, divided in 1947, to meet each other since the bus service it was introduced on April 7,2005. |
