CPMG launches instant Money Order services

JAMMU, Jan 28: Taking a giant leap in 'Real Time Transfer of Money' India Post has added a new feather to its cap by introducing iMO (instant Money Order) service for instant, convenient, reliable transfer of money within the country. The service was today re-launched in the state by John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, Jammu and Kashmir. Years back it was Money Order Service. People used to send their money in this modern age, Post Office introduces Instant Money Order (iMO) service, where the money is transferred and paid within minutes John Samuel said that iMO is an instant web based money transfer service through Post Offices within India Anyone can transfer money from Rs. 1,000/- to Rs. 50,000/- from designated iMO Post Offices and described it as the simplest way to send and receive money.
The customer will be provided with a 16 digit code in a sealed cover. All you to do is to convey that particular code to the payee with a copy of his personal identity proof the code, money order will be paid to him instantly said the CPMG adding that the receiver has choice to receive the payment in cash or through his Post Office Saving bank Account. As a compliment the sender has choice to send one standardized Message to the recipient. On the charges of money transfer, the Chief Postmaster General John Samuel described the commission being charged on iMO as the lowest in the market. For remittance of money amounting to Rs. 1000-10000 it is only Rs. 100/-, for Rs. 10001 to 30000 Rs. 110/- and from Rs. 30001-50000 only Rs. 120/- . The maximum limit for each iMO is Rs. 50000/- The service is available in 76 designated Post Offices including Head Post Offices and other important Post Offices in the J&K. In this electronic age, Post will be focusing on introducing many electronic services for the benefit of the people. Chief PMG announced that very soon e-Post corporate services will be introduced in the state. This will enable the transmission of email and printing, delivery of the hard copy through the post offices. According to John Samuel, CPMG, this will revolutionize the commutation system as the people in the rural areas can also get the e-mail in a 'hard copy format'.
John Samuel said J&K Postal Circle revenue has grown by 54% over the previous year and this has put the J&K State as number one in terms of revenue growth. There has been a considerable growth in saving Bank Services, parcel Services, Speed Post Services and Philately Services said Chief PMG.
Samuel said that Department of Posts is committed to provide modern and highly efficient postal post services across the State and elaborated how Post Offices are touching the lives of people through various services with the blend of latest technologies.
