Kishtwar, Jan 28 : Nearly 50 prominent workers and office bearers of different political parties including Congress, National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PD) joined Bhartiya Janata Party in presence of District President Rajinder Singh Sen and other senior party leaders here on Monday. According to a statement of the BJP, while welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Rajinder Singh assured them to come up to their expectations and continue to struggle for the welfare of the poor or down trodden people initiated by the party. Addressing the workers Sunil Sharma senior leader BJP said that it was significant that most workers who joined the BJP come from NC stronghold of Marwah. He said that people have started believing in BJP's policies and programmes. He said that the doors of the party were always open for those who believe in the program and polices of the BJP and have faith in its leadership. The new incumbents attributed the reasons of their joining the BJP to their disenchantment with the performance and policies of NC, Congress and PDP. They added that they were impressed with the performance, spirit of public service and the leadership of the BJP. |
