JAMMU, Jan 30 : A deputation of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association (WWEA) of Jammu Province, headed by President INTUC and WWEA, Shiv Kumar Sharma, called on the Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma, here today and discussed various issues confronted to the employees. The Association also put forth a charter of demands before the Minister and pleaded for addressing these on priority.
The demands and issues which were brought to the notice of the Minister included, conversion of CP Workers as Daily Wagers, release of wages regularly to the daily wagers/CP workers as per the Government Order No. 19-F of 2011 dated 19-4-2011, review of existing transfer policy, regular conduct of DPCs, repair/renovation of government buildings like Pump Rooms, Chowkidar quarters and other allied issues pertaining to the welfare of the employees.
The Minister gave patient hearing to the deputationists and assured that Government will consider their all outstanding issues sympathetically and resolve them on merit. He assured that Class-IV employees, who are presently working outside their original Sub-Divisions, will be posted back in their respective Sub-Divisions. The Government will formulate a fresh policy for the regularization of Daily Wagers/CP Workers who have been engaged in the Department from time to time, the Minister assured them
Regarding the pay parity, the Minister assured that uniformity will be maintained for all daily rated employees across the State who have been engaged till 2009. He also assured that the DPC of non-gazetted employees would be conducted twice in a year to remove the stagnation of employees apart from filling of all vacant posts in different wings on fast track basis to enhance efficacy of the department.
