| Truck with 9 bovines seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Jan 30 : The police seized a truck loaded with nine bovine animals here on today.
A police spokesman said that a naka party from Lakhanpur Police Station on a specific information intercepted a truck (JK02S-6764). The driver of the truck and his associate managed to flee from the spot leaving behind the truck with nine bovine animals.
The poor animals were packed like bundles and some of them were finding it difficult to breath being packed tightly and lying down on the floor of the vehicle while others were mounted on them.
The police seized the truck and has launched a manhunt to nab the accused. FIR No.17/2013 U/S 188 RPC 3CA Act stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur.
Meanwhile, Kathua police on the intervening night of 29/30-01-2013, arrested five alleged gamblers from Industrial Estate Kathua. They have been identified as Balbir Singh, Naresh Kumar, Charanjeet Singh, Parveen Singh and Tarsem Lal. Police claimed to have recovered cash of Rs 5100 alongwith playing cards from their possession. |
