| Gang rape on tourist lady; Fast track court holds three accused guilty | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 30 (JNF) : Presiding Officer Fast Track Court (constituted for trail of crimes against Women) Sanjeev Gupta today held guilty three accused namely Subash Chander Driver of Maruti Van, Devinder Kumar r/o Parade and Randhir Singh driver Indica car who committed rape with a tourist lady. According to the police case, Prosecutrix a resident of Bhopal was raped by the three accused in the presence of her son after she returned from Srinagar and walked out of the Railway station for meals. The police registered a case and after completion of investigation challan was presented. Today after hearing APP GS CHarak appearing for the state whereas Adv BB Kotwal appearing for the accused persons presiding officer fast track Court Sanjeev Gupta observed that Court is of the opinion that prosecution has succeeded in proving that prosecutrix after her abduction by the accused was subjected to forcible gang rape on the day of occurrence by them one after other and under a fear of threat in presence of her child who at the relevant time was about 8 years of age and was kept by the accused in their custody during the course of commission of offence. Accordingly prosecution has succeeded in proving its case against the accused beyond a reasonsoble doubt and they are held guilty for a commission of offence u/s 366/376 (2) (g) RPC r/w section 34 RPC and they stand convicted for the said offences and fixed January 31, 2013 for arguments of counsels on quantum of sentence. |
