| India to give step by step response to Pak's new gestures | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 30 : In response to latest gestures from Islamabad New Delhi has decided to go slow and adopt a step by step attitude while keeping the channels of dialogue open. According to latest intelligence inputs Islamabad has started making up for the mistake it had committed by allowing a chance to its troops to resort to ceasefire violations on the LOC in Jammu and Kashmir. In fact these inputs have revealed that despite the claim made by the Foreign Minister in Pakistan, Hina Rabbani Khar, that the international community had appreciated Islamabad's restraint and role it played during the recent tension on the border Washington and London had intervened and advised Islamabad to defuse the crisis. Official sources said that intelligence agencies, including the MI, had conveyed to New Delhi that there was need for adopting a step by step policy vis-a-vis Islamabad so that Pakistan did not take India for a ride again. Referring to Hina Khar's latest statement intelligence agencies have cautioned New Delhi against getting overjoyed over her utterances because reports from across the border have indicated that the Army, the ISI and the terrorists continue to enjoy the upper hand and the Zardari led Government was simply being used by these agencies as a pawn on the chessboard of promoting cordial ties with India. In her latest statement Hina Rabbani Khar has said that Pakistan's responsible behavior during recent crisis on Line of Control (LoC) was appreciated by international community, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said Pakistan wants uninterrupted dialogue with Delhi She has said Pakistan wants to evolve uninterrupted dialogue with India to solve all major problems for stability and economic progress in the region. "Pakistan is strongly committed to improving relations with India through dialogue," she said adding Pakistan's identity and foreign relations are not hostage to hostile events and domestic politics. Official sources said that despite the latest stand taken by Islamabad on improving ties with India New Delhi would prefer watching the events on the LOC in the context of the reports that a large number of militants had been brought on the launch pads across the LOC for being pushed into Jammu and Kashmir. It is in this context that New Delhi plans to adopt a wait and watch attitude and if the Pak Army and other agencies assisted these militants in crossing over to Jammu and Kashmir India may not respond to Pak moves for resuming the process of dialogue. |
