Jammu, 30th Sept, 2013: The Department of Sociology, University of Jammu organized the third Alumni Meet in the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium with the lightning of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. A large number of Students, ex-students, Guests and faculty members participated.
Prof. Mohan. Paul. Singh. Ishar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. and congratulated the faculty, staff and students of the department for organizing the meet. He further said that the alumni are the real assets of the institute and their experiences provide important inputs. He wished them good luck in their future endeavors.
Earlier, Prof. Abha Chauhan, Head of the Department, Department of Sociology presented the welcome address. In her address she thanked all the participants for sparing their valuable time and also gave a resume of the achievements of the department during the past years. A brief documentary was also shown to the audience highlighting the activities of the Department since its inception.
The students of the department presented various cultural items and the alumni from first to 12th batch were also felicitated on the occasion.
Among others Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Director, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance, J. K. Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor, faculty members, staff and students. were also present on the occasion
