| Army ready to thwart nefarious designs: GOC | | Taliban will not dare to cross LoC | | Sahil Suhail Kulgam, Jan 30 : While stating that recent incidents on line of control created alertness among both armies, Srinagar based GOC 15 Corps, Lt. General Om Prakash today said that Taliban will not dare to cross the line of Control and assured that army is ready to counter the evil designs of enemy at any time. Talking to media after interacting with Panchs and Sarpanchs of Behibagh Kulgam and adjacent areas of South Kashmir's Kulgam and Shopian districts, Lt. General, Om Prakash said, "Incidents that took place on 6th Januray in Mendhar areas has put both armies on alert and as usual our jawans are alert on Line of Control to counter the evil designs of enemy at any time." Adding, army plans ahead is ready to face kind of situation. He said that army is ready to face the situation that arises after foreign troop's withdrwal from Afgahanistan but quickly he said, "Let me assure you that Taliban will not dare to cross the Line of Control." Adding, that Pakistani army has also increased numbers of Jawans guarding the LoC. He said that Pakistani Army is directly involved in the recent incident however he didn't agree with media expose in which they claimed involvement of a militant outfit. When asked that Chief Minister is now again beating the drums of revoking Armed Forces Special Powers from the Act as well as is politicizing the recommendations of Justice Verma Panel, he said, "Justice Verma Panel and recommendations are unknown to us, honestly we not read it and once the contents came down the line we will go through it and understand it and secondly army has from time to time send recommendations to ministry and as disciplined and profession force we will abide by the decision of government." On recent expose of Pakistani Army's Former General that Pakistani Army took part in Kargil War, he said, "Now their former General exposed that Pakistani army was fighting with militants in Kargil. This expose is not news for us as we already know it and have told media and their bosses at that time but it is shame for them and for their army who didn't claimed the bodies of jawans." Earlier addressing Panchs and sarpnahs at Behibagh that was organized by 62 RR under the aegis of 2 Sector RR, Lt General, Om Prakash advised panchs and sarpanhs to inform the army about the suspicious movement of any person in their respective areas. He said that army will continue to organize interactions with common mass as to get knowledge about the sufferings of people and will try its best to address the problems pertaining to army. |
