Another case of Doctor's negligence, pregnant lady dies in Anantnag

ANANTNAG , Feb 3 : In yet another shocking case, 30 years old pregnant women died after she was allegedly denied proper medical help in South Kashmir's Child and maternity care hospital Anantnag. Chief Medical Officer has directed Hospital authorities to submit the detailed report about the death of the women within a couple of days. After the death of the pregnant women, annoyed people including family members held strong protest demonstrations against thenegligence of doctors and demanded stern against them for not providing proper medical help to the pregnant lady. They alleged that the lday died due to the absence of deployed doctors in the hospital, who are prioritizing private practice than doing their duties, assigned them by the government of Jammu and Kashmir. Family members of the deceased pregnant lady identified as Munnera Banoo w/o Nazir Ahmad Qasab was brought in the hospital early in the morning at 9:00am but doctor on duty told family members to wait till Physician arrives in the hospital, "We reached in the hospital premises at 9:00am in the morning and approached doctors and requested them to admit the patient but the doctor on duty, Dr Fozia told us to wait till Dr showket Dar comes but till 2:00 pm he didn't arrived and after half an hour patient died and Dr fozia told us that she contacted Physician over telephone but lady died due to heart attack ." Hilal Ahmad, Family member of the deceased lady said. When the news reached to the native area of the deceased lady, people in numbers came out and protested against the hospital authorities and negligence of doctors that continued till afternoon. Dr Fozia, when contact refuted allegations, "i was in my clinic and was called by Dr Masooda who was operating the patient and i helped him as i am the senior gynocolgist of the hospital."she said while ruling out alleged doctors negligence. When contacted Chief Medical Officer Anantnag, he said, "I have ordered an enquiry into the death of lady and have directed Medical Superintend of the hospital to submit a detailed report within a couple of days." Worth to mention that before few days, same tragic incident occurred inside a private Nursing Home (Alhayat) in south Kashmir's Anantnag district were thirty years old women reportedly died due to heart attack after giving birth to second baby. Sources said that deceased women identified as Razeya w/o late Intisar Ahmad resident of Banhal was admitted in 'Alhayat' private nursing home on 27 of January and at 5:30 the deceased was operated for seizure section, after which the women gave birth to her second female child but after two hours deceased patient complained pain near chest and in absence of any resident doctor the nurse gave her painkiller injection, later patient succumbed and doctors declared her death due to heart attack.
