Villagers protest against Sarpanch

Bhaderwah, Mar 18 : Hundreds of Peoples of Panchayat Songai block Bhaderwah organised a protest rally under the joint leadership of Davinder Kotwal and Karan Singh protesting in front of the office of the Block development officer to express their anger against the Sarpanch for insensitive attitude towards people of Panchayat on various fronts especially MGNREGA issue. Addressing the Protesters Davinder Kotwal said the Panchyat consists of more that 205 families having 1200 population. He said since the Panchyat Raj come into existence after Panchyat Elections Kashmir Singh took over as Sarpanch of Halqa Panchyat Sungli he has started to misuse of his official position and made high handedness to suppress the fundamental right of the poor and general public. His mala fide intentions have caused great loss to the interest of poor public.He further said that The funds of various schemes meant for the employment of poor public and general development works under MGNREGA are being plundered by him by providing works to few vested interests. He also said that In order to hide the facts the concerned Sarpanch has managed to get so many employees transferred. Whereas, a Sarpanch being head of the Panchyat is supposed to work for the welfare of poor and general public it is a matter of great regret that everything is being done by him for the personal interest. The general public is fed up with his misdeeds and are finding themselves helpless. Protestors informed the BDO Bhadarwah, that they have come to know that the Sarpanch (Kashmir Singh) has submitted IInd Phase plan for various works which is aimed at to benefit his close relatives who are already in Govt. services.
