| Protests against GREF in Kishtwar | | | Et Plus report Kishtwar, Mar 18: The residents of village Sangrabhatta on the outskirt of Kishtwar town today held protests against General Engineering Reserve Force (GREF) over worst condition of the road passing through their village.The agitating people blocked Kishtwar - Anantnag-Srinagar National Highway at Sangrabhatta Kishtwar for more than five hours disrupting vehicular movement. They raised slogans against GREF authorities and administration over their failure in repairing the said patch of road despite repeated request and protest by the people.One of the protestor Raiz Ahmed said that the people feel dejected due to irresponsible behaviour of the GREF officials and administration to redress their grievances. He said that the road which passes through Sangrabata is in worst condition. He demanded immediate repair of the road and threatened to intensify the agitation in case the authorities fail to address the problem. The protestors lift the road blockade only after the assurance from Tehsildar Kishtwar Indeerjeet Singh Parihar who rushed to the spot along with OC GREF 118 RCC Kishtwar.The protestors set the deadline of one week for completion of up gradation work as well as black topping of the effected road patch. |
