Army to organize tour for valley artisans; taxi drivers' tour flagged off

Anantnag, Mar 18: While flagging in the 10 days long tour 'Mujlis Wastad' of Kashmiri taxi drivers, commander 1 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Deepak Banerjee after interacting with media, on the sidelines of the function said that they are going to organize the tour for valley artisans with new approach to arise new horizons among them for over all development of the state. "Army has taken this step quite before years to give an exposure to the valley Children, farmers people belonging to rural areas by taking them outside so that they can see historical and cultural existence of the country," Deepak Banerjee said adding country's development has aroused new horizons among the valley people from time to time and army has tried to involve every section of the society. He said that army under a new approach, is now organizing tours for others, other than school children or backward families. He said that organizing tour for taxi drivers and their families was part of this new approach. On being asked about the future planning and strategy for conducting tours under project Sadbavan, he said that they are going to organize tour for valley artisans by which they can also build contacts with the business community of the country apart from visiting important attracting tourist destinations of the country. Commander 1 Sector RR, who was accompanied by CO 3RR, Col D K Malik and other army officials later distributed cash rewards among the taxi drivers as the taxi drivers could not earn during touring days. During the flag in ceremony, Kashmiri taxi driver's army expressed gratitude towards army for organizing free ten days tour. "Army organized tour for us and gave us every facility during these days like accommodations, vehicles lunch dinner and even cool drinks and now cash rewards." Driver Muzaffer Ahmad said, adding army's contributions in our society could not be ruled out.
