| PG entrance examination begins at KU | | | et plus report Jammu, Mar 18: The entrance examination for more than 40 PG courses offered by the University of Kashmir started here on Monday at KU campus with the KU authorities holding the examinations in three sessions that is morning, afternoon and evening for the convenience of thousands of the aspirants. According to the statistics the University has received more than 36000 entrance applications for admission to several of its post graduate courses for the year 2013 against a vacancy of 3000 seats. The KU authorities including the entire examination and administrative machinery have been geared up to conduct the entrance examination which will continue for ten days and conclude on March 28. The KU has made elaborate arrangements and constituted several teaching departments as centres within the campus for conducting the examination. On the first day of the examination Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat along with Dean Academic Affairs Prof AM Shah visited various examination centres constituted by the university for the purpose and interacted with the aspirants. While expressing happiness over the successful conduct of the examination on the first day Prof Talat said “We have made all the necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examination and we will make sure that the aspirants do not face any difficulty.” While observing that some of the aspirants from rural areas turned up late at the examination venue Dean Academic Affairs Prof AM Shah said “We request the aspirants to reach the venue of examination one hour early before the commencement of the examination so that they may not face any difficulty thereafter or miss the examination.” |
