JAMMU: Minister of State for Technical Education, Mr. Vikar Rasool today informed the House that a project report for the augmentation of 33/11 KV Receiving Station Dedpeth in Kishtwar district from 3.15 MVA to 2x3.15 MVA along with augmentation of 33/11 KV Receiving Station Bhalla from 3.15 MVA to 6.3 MVA has been accorded clearance by Chief Engineer, P&D Wing, Jammu and is being processed for Administrative Approval. As soon as the funds are available, the work of augmentation of sub-station Dedpeth shall be initiated, the Minister said. Replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Mr. G. M. Saroori which was moved by Mr. Ashok Kumar, the Minister said that un-scheduled power cuts at peak hours in respect of Chatroo and Thakre areas are due to overload of 3.15 MVA, 33/11 KV Sub-Station Dedpeth. He said it becomes difficult to operate even two feeders simultaneously as the load of any two feeders at a given time exceeds the rated capacity of transformer. The Minister said that as regards areas such as Saroor, Thathri, Bungwah and Kahara which are being fed from 6.3 MVA Receiving Station Thathri, current carrying capacity of transformer is 330 Amp, while as peak hours load demand goes up to 440 Amp, resulting in to overloading of transformer and some un-scheduled cuts are effected on the feeders on rotation basis in addition to the routine curtailment. As regards Sarthal area only scheduled curtailment is being enforced, the Minister added.
