SRINAGAR, Mar 30 : In order to ensure over all development of Srinagar city and to keep liaison with Civil Society, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Shalindra Kumar today convened a meeting with Civil Society and prominent citizens. The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah also present in the meeting. The representatives of Kashmir Traders Federation, (KTF), various Hotelier Union, House Boat Owners Union, Kashmir Motor Drivers Association, besides other various presidents projected their suggestions. The Chairman, Kashmir Traders Manufactures Association submitting his suggestions said that road widening project should be completed within a stipulated time so that people do not face any inconvenience. He said construction of flyovers should be intensified in and outside city to facilitate people. He said more Traffic Police personnel should be deployed to improve the traffic movement in the city. The President, Traders Federation, Mr. Jan Mohammad Koul said that federation has raised tax of Rs. 4800 crore without any subsidy. He requested Divisional Commissioner that the doors of the administration should remain open for all, as people have pinned hope with the Divisional Commissioner’s office. He also requested for rehabilitation of shopkeepers and appealed Divisional Commissioner to end up the power curtailment programme. Mr. Nazir Ahmad Bakshi while inviting attention of the Divisional Commissioner said that the development works should be completed within fixed time while others also projected their problem and made various suggestions.
